First time at Daycare!

Today was Piper's first day of daycare. Needless to say that they did not call me to come and get her. It was a very BIG first for the both of us, since she has never spent more than a few hours away from me or daddy at one time. So it was definitely experience. I took her to Kids Connection after I dropped the boys' off at school. We walked into her room, which is the yellow room, and she got to meet her new friends. I gave them all the necessary paperwork and then handed her over to one of the people working in the room. The girl that I handed her too, fell in love with her immediately. Especially since I told her that she has cerebral palsy. So, I explained to them how her routine normally is at home and that she can't sit, walk crawl or anything like that on her own. So I was shown her cubby and her little mailbox....awwwww! It didn't take long before she realized that I wasn't holding her anymore and something was different.

Apparently you have to have a doctor's note for everything here. I had to have a note stating that she had developmental delays. I have to one that states on how she is supposed to take a bottle with milk and baby cereal mixed. Stuff like that, riduculous, yeah I think so too.

So after everything was said and done, I kissed her goodbye and went into the observation room so that I could finish the paperwork I forgot to finish in the book they had handed me on Friday. So while I was in there, she began her first of many crying fits. After I finished the paperwork, I turned it into the front office and walked back out to the car. WHich is when I broke down and started to cry because my baby was in daycare. I only cried for a minute or two because I had to come back to the house to take my meds and I really didn't want to hear it from either my husband or father.

SO I came home and took my necessary medication before heading to Monticello for bloodwork. Yay. I have to drive 30-45 minutes for a 5 minute poke. Anyways, after that was done I came home, just in time for Tristan to get out of school. Grandpa picked him up and he thought I was going to leave Piper at daycare forever. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I went through his backpack and then he and I went to the store to get his snacks for tomorrow, since it's his day to bring snacks to class.

We came back from the store and I made a salad for lunch while Tristan munched on his Peanut M&Ms. My friend Tera called and wanted me to go to lunch with her, but I was already in the midst of it, so she stopped off at Burger King and came to visit for a few minutes before I had to head to the Wabash Center for my meeting.....Job Seekers Club, which is them reading off Job leads from all the job sites online.

She and I talked for a good 30 minutes before I had to leave. Once it was time we went our merry ways. As like the week before it was quite crowded, but was little quicker this time around at the JSC. I got a load of paperwork for job leads that I have to take care of this week during my non-Piper time. After the meeting I went over to the daycare to get Piper, but I first had to talk to the people in charge of her therapies to let them know that I would just meet them at the center for her evaluation.

I walked into the yellow room and it was dark. Christi, one her therapists, had Piper in her lap holding on to Lily, from Leap Frog. The women in the room said that she would not eat for them, she cried about half the time she was there. They put her in a stroller and strolled her around and she didn't seem to mind it so much. I was asked by one of the ladies, if I was sure that she should be in daycare full-time? Yes, because this is going to prepare her for GLASS in the spring when she turns 3 and that I didn't really have a choice because the Childcare agency put her in for full-time, so that I could have that time to find a job.

We left and in hopes of a slightly better day tomorrow. She was happy and content to come home and take a nap, because of course, she refused to take one at daycare. So all in well after our first day at daycare and we're just chillin' out now.
